A man in a group on a birthday party hayride in western Minnesota fell and was killed as he was moving from one hay rack to another, authorities said.

Robert S. Bentz, 59, of New London, Minn., fell about 7:45 p.m. Saturday on 120th Avenue, about a half-mile south of Hwy. 40 in Woods Township, the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

According to the Sheriff's Office:

A private group was being pulled by a tractor on two hay racks about 16 miles west of Willmar. Bentz tried to move from the hay rack closest to the tractor to the second hay rack, fell and was run over.

An air ambulance was dispatched, but Bentz was declared dead at the scene.
