Continued: Lawmakers: Child-protection system failed Eric Dean

While Liebling’s committee oversees DHS, she said another committee chaired by Rep. Joe Mullery, DFL-Minneapolis, likely has oversight of child-protection issues. Liebling said that if Mullery did not want to call for a hearing on the issue, she would.

Mullery could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
