A Lakeville man accused of a decades-old Texas murder has been extradited to the Dallas area, his attorney confirmed Friday.

Robert Otteson, 53, is accused of fatally stabbing 42-year-old San Antonio businessman Francisco Narvaez in a suburban Dallas hotel in 1983. Otteson was arrested Aug. 12, days after being indicted by a Texas grand jury.

Tyler Bliss, Otteson's attorney, said Friday afternoon that Otteson had been picked up that morning and transported back to Texas.

Otteson raised no objections to extradition at a court appearance last week. A review hearing had been scheduled for Friday if Texas authorities did not arrive within 10 days of the arrest.

Until last week, Otteson, a mechanic, lived on a quiet Lakeville street where he and his wife raised their two children.

Texas authorities have not said what led them to Otteson during the investigation of Narvaez's death. They said in a statement that "new leads were developed and evidence was discovered." Police also have said nothing about a motive.
