A Minnesota teenager drowned in a submerged kayak on a lake west of Alexandria, authorities said Monday.
Brennon D. Johnson, 15, of Montevideo, was found about 5:50 p.m. Sunday on the northwest side of Lobster Lake in Douglas County, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Johnson still had his life jacket on when boaters, who joined law enforcement in the search, found him and his kayak. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The search was initiated when his mother called about an hour earlier and said that the teen had left the Wildridge Campground in the kayak about 12:30 p.m. and was overdue in returning.
