Severe thunderstorm warning for Dakota County

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect this afternoon for Dakota County.

At 2:49 p.m. radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing penny-sized hail and winds exceeding 60 mph, the National Weather Service is reporting.

Along with New Trier, other locations in the warning include Randolph, Coates, Vermillion, Rosemount, Miesville and Hampton.
