“Someone in the community knows” men in shooting.

Police believe someone knows who shot up a Roseville pawnshop Monday and wounded an employee during a smash-and-grab robbery.

And they want the public’s help in finding the suspects.

The stickup of the Pawn America occurred near the busy intersection of Rice Street and Larpenteur Avenue about 5:45 p.m. The two robbers smashed a display case and fled with jewels and watches. A 27-year-old employee survived being shot in the leg.

“The department believes someone in the community knows the identity of one if not both of the two men,” police said in a statement released Wednesday afternoon that included detailed descriptions of the fugitives.

Also distributed were store surveillance photos and a brief video clip of the men entering the store.

Police say the man who shot the employee with a pistol is black, in his early to mid-30s, 6 feet tall, with a “thick build.” He also is righthanded. His eyes appeared bloodshot and yellowed. He had a light beard. He was wearing a red Chicago Blackhawks cap, a white T-shirt that went past his waist, long dark shorts and red gym shoes.

The other suspect is described as black, in his early to mid-30s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin build and short hair and facial hair along his jaw line. He wore a blue baseball cap with white lettering, a maroon T-shirt with white lettering and long blue or black shorts.

The men were seen fleeing in a dark four-door Chevrolet Cobalt, model year 2005 to 2010.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Useful information could lead to a reward. Pawn America has also offered an additional reward of $2,500.
