Consider it a case of karma.

Early Saturday morning, St. Paul police were called to a home on Mount Curve Blvd. on a report of suspicious noises in a parking lot. When they got there, police said, someone apparently had made off with the four wheels of a parked car.

As squads looked around the area, they spotted a couple of suspects fleeing. While the bad guys got away, police recovered the stolen wheels. They also found the suspects' vehicle, which they towed.

No one has yet been arrested.

Police spokesman Sgt Paul Paulos said: "This is a good example of community interest. Someone heard something and took the time to call police. You're not wasting our time. We want you to call us."
