Last update: August 6, 2008 - 8:21 PM

What's 4-Star Child Care?

To get the top ranking, a day care facility must:

• Be assessed by the University of Minnesota Center for Early Education and Development.

• Follow recommendations made.

• Implement research-based curriculum; document children's progress; implement suggested staff training, and meet health and safety standards.

• Work with families (through parent-teacher conferences, etc.) to try to foster learning at home.
