A pedestrian hit by a pickup truck and killed Friday in Long Lake has been identified as James T. Parry, 82, of Long Lake.

He was struck and killed on Wayzata Boulevard at the intersection with N. Brown Road just before 3 p.m., and died in the ambulance that had parked in the intersection to help him, the Hennepin County medical examiner’s office reported Saturday evening.

Police said the driver of the pickup was cooperative with officers at the scene. No information was available Saturday if any tickets were issued to the driver, or exactly how the accident happened.

Parry lived only about 500 feet from the scene in a senior apartment complex that borders Long Lake and Orono in Hennepin County.
