Masked man robs Bloomington bank

Last update: July 25, 2008 - 10:21 AM

Two employees reporting for work at a Bloomington bank Thursday morning were confronted by an armed robber who ordered them into a back room, then took an undisclosed amount of money, said FBI Special Agent Paul McCabe.

The robber pointed a gun at a teller and another employee as they opened the U.S. Bank at 8000 Lyndale Av. S. around 7 a.m. He ordered the employees to a back room where he demanded money. The suspect filled a brown shopping bag with an undisclosed amount of money, then fled, McCabe said.

The suspect is described as an Asian male between 20 and 30 years old, between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 4 inches, 120 to 130 pounds with a slim build. He was wearing a black ski mask, camouflage baseball cap, dark gray fleece pullover jacket, blue jeans and dark shoes at the time of the holdup.

Anybody with information is asked to call the FBI at 612-376-3200. A reward is being offered for the arrest and indictment of the robber, McCabe said.
