About 50,000 people walked on Sunday morning in the 22nd annual Susan G. Komen Twin Cities Race for the Cure 5K, to raise money in the fight against breast cancer.

About 50,000 people walked on Sunday morning in the 22nd annual Susan G. Komen Twin Cities Race for the Cure 5K, to raise money in the fight against breast cancer.

Held at the Mall of America, the group raised about $2.5 million for research.

For the 5K run, the top finishers were Marcus Aberg, 26, at 16:02, as top male; Melissa Gacek, 38, at 17:54, as top female; and Sarah Wagner, 48, at 24:42, as top survivor.
