A 51-year-old Minneapolis bicyclist is still in critical condition after a crash involving a sport-utility vehicle at the corner of Snelling and Summit Avenues on Saturday morning.

St. Paul police identified the man Sunday as David Joseph Wuest. The department said it continues to investigate the incident and that no further information is expected until at least Monday.

Wuest was traveling west and the SUV driver was heading east on Summit, according to St. Paul Police Cmdr. Steve Frazer. The motorist was making a left turn to go north on Snelling when the crash occurred at 7:30 a.m., he said.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and called 911, and Frazer said there were no indications of alcohol use or other problems with the 41-year-old driver. He was not issued a citation.
