An 18-year-old woman was killed after she lost control on an icy Carver County highway Tuesday night and slid into the path of an oncoming pickup truck, the State Patrol said Wednesday.
The crash occurred on County Road 11 at White Pine Way shortly before 9:30 p.m., the patrol said.
Mickenzy Segler of New Prague was headed south on County Road 11 when she lost control of her car and it slid sideways into the northbound lane.
The pickup driver, Robert MacDonald, 32, of Carver, "attempted to make an evasive maneuver, but the pickup struck the passenger side of the [car] broadside," according to the patrol.
Segler died and MacDonald suffered noncritical injuries.
