A 60-year-old man died Saturday when his car ran off the road and into a ditch in Itasca County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
An initial investigation suggests there was a "medical issue" before the crash, officials said. The incident happened about 1:30 p.m. at Hwy. 169 and Lakeview Drive.
The man, whose name has yet to be released, was from Swatara, Minn., which is about 30 miles south of Grand Rapids.
According to reports, he was driving alone and heading north on Hwy. 169 when he went off the right side of the road and struck a snowbank. The car, a 1994 Chrysler Concorde, was not damaged.
The man was taken to Grand Itasca Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
