A 53-year-old Hudson, Wis., man has been identified as the victim of a fatal train collision near Roberts, Wis., Monday morning.

Benjamin C. Morgan died after the septic truck he was driving, owned by Tri County Sanitation of Hudson, was struck by a Union Pacific train at a crossing in the Town of Hammond, just east of Roberts.

The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office was called about 11 a.m. to the crossing on 150th Street just north of County Road TT. The train was traveling west, and the truck was heading south when they collided, investigators said.

Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's office. Nobody aboard the train was injured.

The crossing, which is marked with "yield" and "railroad crossing" signs, was closed Monday.
