A coronation mass was held Thursday night at St. Paul's Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church to celebrate the holiday honoring its namesake.

The mass featured the crowning of the church's statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe and the blessing of her image for parishioners.

Rebekah Crisanta held her daughter, Xochitl, as she and the rest of the Aztec dance troupe Danza Mexica Cuauhtemoc performed two dances to honor the energy of Mother Earth and the Virgin.

Seated in the first pew were Princess Roxanna Lozoya, left, and Fiesta Queen Emma Miller-Shindelar. At right,

Petra Cazares, Mae Mazzara and Rosemary Crowe waited at the front of the line to process into the sanctuary for mass. See more photos at www.startribune.com/galleries.
