Last update: July 5, 2008 - 5:49 PM

Nathan S. Awalt, 19, of Brainerd, was the man who drowned Friday while swimming in Gull Lake, Cass County authorities said Saturday.

Awalt's body was recovered by members of the Crow Wing County Sheriff's dive team about 2:30 p.m. Friday, nearly an hour after he went under water. He'd been celebrating the holiday weekend with friends.

Authorities suspect it was a swimming accident and said there is no evidence that alcohol was involved.

Gull Lake, in central Minnesota, is home to a number of resorts and beaches.
