SUMMER NIGHT PERFECTION: a barbecue, a baseball game and a chance to meet Twins players.
And it's all for a good cause -- raising money for homeless children and families.
WHEN: The fifth annual Strike Out Homelessness benefit will begin at 4 p.m. July 18 in the Metrodome's picnic pavilion before the Twins game against the Texas Rangers.
WHO: People Serving People, which operates a family homeless shelter in Minneapolis, is sponsoring the event along with the Twins, the Star Tribune, Startribune.com and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
THE SHOWBILL: The benefit, which will feature appearances by Twins players, attracts nearly 600 people every year. It will include live music by Burning City Skyline, Mayda and Tim Mahoney.
TICKETS for the benefit are $30 for adults and $25 for children 12 years old and younger. The pregame party will be from 4 to 7 p.m. The game begins at 7:10 p.m.
