It went into overtime, but Duluth edged out International Falls for the distinction of having the best-tasting water in Minnesota — even though it's tasteless.

"It had no taste, and that's what I look for," one of the judges, Michael Simpson of Indiana, told the Duluth News Tribune.

The vote was taken last week at the Minnesota Water Association's annual conference in, well, Duluth. Moorhead and St. Cloud also brought samples. Moorhead has won the honors twice before.

International Falls was deemed the "people's choice" for best-tasting water at the Minnesota State Fair. And after judges split 2-2 between Duluth and International Falls, a fifth judge came in to break the tie.

"It's pure, it's crisp and it has no odor," said Rod Ganther, a water equipment salesman and judge from Blaine who voted for Duluth, told the News Tribune.
