O.J. Simpson visiting Fargo

Last update: June 25, 2008 - 11:40 AM

FARGO - Former NFL star running back and one-time murder suspect O.J. Simpson is visiting the Fargo area.

Simpson says he's visiting friends and playing golf, and also hopes to catch his first walleye during his five-day stay.

Simpson drew a crowd at a Fargo bar Tuesday night, as word spread that he was in the city.

Simpson captured the national spotlight during his trial and subsequent acquittal in the 1994 knife slaying of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman.

He's set to go on trial in September to face charges of orchestrating the armed robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room. Simpson has pleaded not guilty.
