LITTLE FALLS, Minn. — The deaths of a couple in Morrison County have been ruled a murder-suicide.

Richard and Cynthia Lakeman were found dead in a home in Little Falls Township on Feb. 23. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office has notified Morrison County Sheriff Michel Wetzel the 45-year-old woman was shot in the head and was a homicide victim.

The Brainerd Dispatch (http://bit.ly/19qtEps ) reports the medical examiner's office says gunshot residue on the hands of 75-year-old Richard Lakeman strongly suggests suicide, leading the sheriff's department to close the case.
