MINNEAPOLIS — Educators from across the country will be in Minneapolis this week for the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference.

The "Land of 10,000 Ag Opportunities" gathering runs from Tuesday through Friday at the Marriot City Center.

Agriculture in the Classroom programs seeks to improve awareness, knowledge, and appreciation of agricultural among prekindergarten through 12th grade teachers and their students.

Andrew Zimmern, host of the television show "Bizarre Foods," will be the Friday evening keynote speaker. The two-time James Beard Award winner will speak at the closing dinner on "Global Food and Culture."

Organizers say Zimmern has promised not to make anyone eat any tarantulas.
