MOORHEAD – A 5-month-old baby girl died Tuesday night after she was left in her car seat in a vehicle, according to a report in the Fargo Forum,
Police Lt. Chris Carey said officers, along with fire and ambulance crew workers, responded to the report of an unresponsive child at 8:22 p.m.
Carey said the girl had been left in a minivan for an "extended period of time." The girl died at the scene.
"During the initial investigation, it appeared accidental," Carey said.
The girl's name was not released Tuesday, pending notification of family.
Police did not say if the windows in the vehicle had been opened.
