A woman was killed and a man wounded late Thursday morning at a home in Mankato, police said.

A man was quickly arrested in connection with the incident, and police added that they "believe this is an isolated incident, and there is no danger to the public."

The woman's body was still in the home in the 1400 block of 2nd Avenue as of early afternoon, while investigators with the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension were heading to the scene, said Matt Westermayer, deputy director for the Mankato Police Department.

Authorities have yet to reveal how the woman was killed or the man wounded sometime after 10 a.m., nor has a motive been revealed.

Westermayer said investigators were "not certain at this point what the relationships were" among the three, whose identities have yet to be released.

The suspect, a young man, was arrested in the bathroom at a nearby Holiday gas station about two blocks away on Riverfront Drive, a store employee said.
