What's open and closed on Memorial Day

Flags are placed in the Alabama National Cemetery, Saturday, May 25, 2013 in Montevallo, Ala. Groups ranging from Boy Scouts to the Blue Star Salute Foundation placed about 2100 flags in a little over an hour at the cemetery that will host a Memorial Day program at 9 a.m. Monday morning.

Post offices: Closed.

Banks: All Bremer Bank locations will be closed. TCF Bank traditional branches will open at the normal time and close at 3 p.m. In-store branches inside Cub Foods will close at 6 p.m. Wells Fargo branches will be closed. U.S. Bank branches in Byerly’s stores will be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; traditional branches will be closed.

Groceries: Major supermarkets will be open.

Malls: Most will be open.

Mass transit: Northstar Line commuter trains will not operate. Metro Transit buses and light-rail trains will follow Sunday/holiday schedules. For route information, call 612-373-3333 or go to www.metrotransit.org. Minnesota Valley Transit Authority will follow Sunday schedules. Maple Grove Transit, Plymouth Metrolink and SouthWest Transit will have no service. Call Metro Mobility for service.

Parking meters: Won’t be enforced in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Minneapolis parks will enforce meters unless noted on the meter.

Schools: Public schools and the University of Minnesota will be closed for classes.

Public agencies: Local, state and federal offices closed.

Libraries: Generally closed.
