Much of the lower half of Minnesota, incuding the Twin Cities metro area, may be hit by thunder storms tonight.

Despite periods of sun after morning storms moved through, more storms were expected to rumble through the Twin Cities Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service. There was potential for some to be severe.

Much of the state, including the metro, also was under a flood watch. Many areas of south-central Minnesota received between 1 and 3 inches of rain Saturday, and an additional 2 to 4 inches was forecast to fall through Monday night. All of that water could lead to flash flooding in spots.

Check the National Weather Service website for the forecast in your area.
