Minneapolis man who died of gunshot wound is identified

A man who died from a gunshot wound in Minneapolis last week has been identified as 24-year-old Ja'Chaun Ferguson.

He was shot Tuesday at his apartment at 2314 Sheridan Avenue N, and died Friday. He died of complications from a gunshot wound to the head, said the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

Bloomington man injured when he tumbles into sinkhole

A Bloomington man injured his shoulder and eye after falling into a sinkhole Sunday morning.

Bloomington police officials said the man was on a walk with his wife and dogs about 8:45 a.m. when he fell about seven feet into the hole.

The incident happened near the intersection of W. 102nd St. and Scarborough Road.

No further information was available. The city's public works department is investigating.

Human remains are located in northern Minnesota

Human remains were found Saturday in northern Minnesota, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office in Duluth.

The office hasn't disclosed where the remains were found, the gender or how old the body is. A sheriff's dispatcher said a release with more information would be available Monday morning.

Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension agents and crime scene personnel are assisting in the St. Louis County case, said spokeswoman Jill Olivera. She said any further information would come from the sheriff's office.

Cold Spring officer's name is being added to national memorial

The name of a Cold Spring-Richmond police officer killed last fall will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

Tom Decker, 31, was gunned down Nov. 29 while responding to a call in Cold Spring. The investigation into his shooting is ongoing.

Decker's widow, Alicia; his parents, John and Rosella Decker; his siblings and other members of his family are attending National Police Week events in Washington, D.C., this week.

According to Cold Spring-Richmond Officer Eric Boucher, local officers going include five Cold Spring-­Richmond officers, one St. Paul officer, one retired North St. Paul officer and a former Cold Spring-­Richmond ­officer.

The St. Cloud Times reported that Decker's family and the officers will attend a candlelight vigil Monday at the memorial.
