A man who is missing and presumed dead after falling off a bridge and into the Chippewa River on Friday may be a University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire student from Minnesota.
Around 10:45 p.m. on Friday, campus police responded to an emergency call reporting that a man had fallen from the university pedestrian bridge and into the river, according to a news release issued Saturday.
Police discovered that a student was missing from his dorm; he was identified as David Patrick Rodgers, 20, from Northfield, Minn. Witness descriptions of the man who fell match the missing student. Anyone with information should call police at 715-836-2222.
