Duluth’s Kara Goucher held on for a top-10 finish Monday morning in the Boston Marathon.

Duluth’s Kara Goucher crossed the finish line in sixth place Monday at the Boston Marathon, with an unofficial time of 2 hours, 28 minutes and 11 seconds.
Goucher ran among the top competitors throughout the 26.2-mile race, finishing 1 minutes, 46 seconds behind the winner. Rita Jeptoo of Kenya came in first with a time of 2:26:25.
At the London Olympics last year, Goucher finished 11th in the marathon with a time of 2:26:07.
Goucher ran in high school for Duluth East, attended the University of Colorado and moved to Portland, Ore., to live and train.
