A northern Minnesota man has been charged with driving drunk, crashing his vehicle and killing his passenger, a 28-year-old mother of four.
Dustin M. Johnson, 27, of Blackduck, was charged in federal court in Minneapolis with two counts of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Jilleen Brightstar Jones, 28, of Redby.
Johnson had a blood-alcohol level of at least 0.08 percent on Oct. 23, when he crashed his vehicle on Hwy. 15 in Redby, according to the indictment. Jones, a mother of two boys and two girls, did not survive.
If convicted, Johnson faces a potential maximum penalty of eight years in prison on each count.
