The Ramsey County Sheriff's water patrol waded through open water Monday afternoon in a creek at the southern end of Keller Lake in Maplewood, poking the creek bottom and under ice shelves with long sticks, after searchers turned up items of interest in the search for Kira Trevino on Sunday.

Police collected several items found by volunteer searchers Sunday at Keller Lake, where pieces of critical evidence had already been discovered in the disappearance and presumed death of Trevino.
Police wouldn't identify the items. It's too early to tell if they are connected with or hold any value to the case, said St. Paul police spokesman Howie Padilla.
Last week at Keller Lake, searchers uncovered a plastic bag containing a bloody pillow, sports bra, shirt and sponge containing Trevino's DNA. The lake also was searched Tuesday after cadaver dogs indicated the scent of a body in the water, but nothing was found, according to a court document.
Trevino's husband, Jeffery Trevino, 39, has been charged with murdering his wife. Kira Trevino, 30, was last seen Feb. 21 leaving the Mall of America with her husband. Police have been chasing various leads since.
