The Prindle family, who lost 2-year-old Nathaniel in the tornado, released a statement today expressing gratitude for the outpouring of community support. Nathaniel's sister, 4-year-old Annika, remains in critical condition at Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul.
Here is the family's statement:
We would like to thank our incredible neighbors and the Hugo and White Bear Lake Emergency personnel for all they did. They responded within minutes of the tornado hitting and pulled us out from the wreckage.
They also provided blankets, towels, comfort, and performed CPR on our daughter [Annika]. Everyone involved demonstrated such kindness and compassion.
We're realizing the extreme seriousness of Annika's injuries, but at the same time, we're also seeing positive signs as the days progress. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers for our family, and for Annika as she continues her recovery.
We truly appreciate the community's outpouring of support during this difficult time. Donations to our family can be made at any US Bank to the Gerard Prindle Family Fund.
Christina and Jerry Prindle
