Registration for the 27th annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon officially closed Monday when the 11,000-runner field filled. But those who missed out can still reserve a spot through the Fundraiser Entry Program.

Marathon officials will open up 150 additional spots to those who pay the $95 entry fee along with a $100-tax deductible donation, which will benefit Bolder Options, Migizi Communications and the YWCA of Minneapolis.

Registration for the 150 spots begins at noon Thursday and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign up will be online at the marathon's website, www.mtcmarathon.org.

The 26.2-mile race on Oct. 5 begins near the Metrodome and ends at the State Capitol in St. Paul.
