Permits allowing outdoor fires will be available starting today in several central Minnesota counties where the Department of Natural Resources had enacted burning restrictions last month.
April rainfall has provided enough moisture for newly growing plants. And with grass and brush starting to green up, the fire danger has dropped, the DNR said.
Burning permits will be issued starting today in Anoka, Ramsey, Washington, Chisago, Sherburne, Benton Stearns, Todd, Morrison, Isanti, Mille Lacs, Pine and Kanabec counties.
Permits will be issued starting Wednesday in Aitkin, Crow Wing, Pope, Douglas, Stevens and Grant counties, the DNR said.
