Another woman in a University of Minnesota dorm reported being sexually assaulted this weekend, marking the third incident in as many weeks on or near the campus.
The woman told police she was asleep in her unlocked room at Middlebrook Hall at 3:15 a.m. Sunday when she awoke to someone touching her. When she responded, the suspect ran from the room. She was unable to give a description.
The victim's roommate was also asleep in the dorm room during the incident but did not wake up, according to a bulletin released to students.
Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact (612) 624-COPS. Students are also encouraged to lock their doors and to not let anyone they don't know into their building.
On April 27, a woman reported that two men dragged her to a men's bathroom on the third floor of Pioneer Hall, where one sexually assaulted her. On May 4, a woman reported that someone sexually assaulted her in her second-floor apartment in the Como neighborhood near the U campus. The woman jumped from the window, breaking her ankle. No arrests have been made in either incident.
