A 68-year-old woman from Madelia, Minn., was killed early Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in Brown County, according to the State Patrol.
Shirley A. Glasser was driving north on Hwy. 15, near milepost 25, when she lost control of her car, which crossed the center line and was hit broadside by a southbound SUV driven by Dwight W. Hughes, 57, of New Ulm, Minn. The accident happened at 7:14 a.m. Saturday. Hughes suffered noncritical injuries.
Meanwhile, the patrol has identified a 19-year-old Northfield woman killed Friday in a spinout crash with another car on icy Hwy. 61 in Lake County, near Two Harbors, Minn.
She was Caitlin D. Kelly, who was driving north on Hwy. 61 about 3 p.m. Friday when her car spun out, went sideways and was struck on the passenger side by a vehicle driven by Paul Drindak, 62, of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Drindak was not hurt; his wife and passenger, Linda Drindak, 61, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth with minor injuries. The patrol said alcohol was detected in the system of Paul Drindak, but there were no details on the amount. Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
