Vikings to hold final auditions for cheerleading squad tonight

Last update: April 30, 2008 - 1:08 PM

With the NFL draft behind them, the next item of business for the Minnesota Vikings is selecting the team's cheerleading squad for the 2008 season.

Final auditions take place in a public show at 6:30 p.m. today in the Rotunda at the Mall of America in Bloomington.

The 50 women competing in tonight's event were selected from open auditions, a training camp and interviews held earlier this month. No walk-up candidates can try out tonight.

Judges will select approximately 30 contestants to cheer at 2008 Vikings games and various charity events. The final team selection will be announced online and by telephone on Wednesday.
