DILWORTH, MINN. -- Crews in Dilworth, in northwestern Minnesota, worked Monday to absorb gasoline that leaked from a train car near Dilworth.
Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist says a Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway worker spotted the leak, which was reported to dispatchers at 2:31 p.m. about a half-mile east of the city. Hundreds of gallons of gasoline leaked out of the car.
Bergquist says the spill was caused by an expansion of the gasoline when the car train warmed in the sunlight.
The railroad dispatched a hazardous-materials team from Morris, Minn., to handle the spill.
