The agent supervising Timothy Ray Van Buren, 46, said he wasn't meeting his condition of release.
The Minnesota Department of Corrections has issued a warrant for the arrest of a level-three sex offender who has been listed as a fugitive since Tuesday.
The warrant was issued after the agent supervising Timothy Ray Van Buren, 46, said he wasn't meeting his condition of release, a department news release said.
Van Buren was convicted in 1994 for first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving an adult female stranger, and in 2004 for third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving an adult female whom he knew.
Van Buren was released from a correctional facility near Willow River, Minn. and on Dec. 27 was placed on Intensive Supervised Release in Hennepin County.
Van Buren's last known address was in the 2600 block of Thomas Av. N. in Minneapolis. He is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches, 230 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
Anybody with information on Van Buren or his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Department of Corrections' tip line at 651-603-0026.
