A man from Aitkin, Minn., killed Thursday in a construction accident in Carlton County has been identified as Richard Roy Washburn, 30.
Washburn died, apparently of electrocution, just after 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon at a construction site at Center Road and E. Mud Lake Road in the small town of Wright.
Washburn was an employee of Ulland Brothers Inc.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
Washburn, who was born in Owatonna, Minn., moved to the Hill City area in 1984 and graduated from Hill City High School in 2000, according to an online obituary. The avid fisherman and hunter had lived in Aitkin since 2002 and had worked for Ulland Brothers since 2010. He had two children.
