A freight train struck and killed a man late Sunday in Dundas, Minn., southwest of Northfield, authorities said Monday.

The man's body was discovered along the tracks in downtown Dundas and reported to the Rice County Sheriff's Office shortly before 11:30 p.m.

The Union Pacific train stopped after hitting the man, blocking traffic for a time from Hester Street south to West Avenue. The man's name has yet to be released.
