Accenture, Minneapolis, hired Peter Hutchinson as lead strategist for its state, provincial and local government practice, focusing on the financial and operational concerns of top decisionmakers in government, nonprofit organizations and education. He previously served as commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Finance, as superintendent of schools in Minneapolis, as a deputy mayor, as corporate vice president of the Dayton Hudson Corp. (now Target) and most recently as president of the Bush Foundation. Hutchinson also co-authored "The Price of Government: Getting the Results We Need in an Age of Permanent Fiscal Crisis."

Periscope, Minneapolis, hired Roman Paluta as vice president/brand director. Before joining Periscope, Paluta served as president of Nebraska-based creative agency Bailey Lauerman with clients including Cessna, Disney Vacation Club, AMC Theatres and Bass Pro Shops.

Wells Fargo, Minneapolis, hired Laura Christensen as business banking loan administration area manager. Christensen will be responsible for all loan operational functions located in San Antonio, Texas; Boise, Idaho and Winston-Salem, N.C. Christensen has held a variety of leadership positions in loan operations, including managing the Minneapolis loan operations center and serving as the business banking loan operations integration lead of the Wachovia-Wells Fargo merger.

Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America, Minneapolis, promoted Bill Ryan to director of human resources. Ryan will lead the people strategy and work with senior leaders in actuarial, finance and legal. Ryan joined Allianz Life in 2002 as a client services team manager in the operations division and transitioned to the HR division as a service center manager. Before joining Allianz Life, Ryan worked for five years with Prudential Financial Inc.
