Last update: March 24, 2008 - 11:09 PM

Meredith Johnson, 21, a University of Minnesota student, will match wits with other students in the "Jeopardy!" 2008 College Championship. The two weeks' worth of shows will be taped at the University of Wisconsin's Kohl Center on April 11-12 and will air May 5-16. In the first week, each player will appear in one of the five episodes. The winners of each of these shows and the next four highest money earners will advance to the semifinals. In the second week, the semifinalists will compete in three episodes for a place in the two-game final match. The winner takes home $100,000. The second-place contestant is guaranteed at least $50,000; third place at least $25,000. Semifinalists receive $10,000, and players eliminated in the first week receive $5,000. PAUL WALSH
