As Minneapolis police officers were responding to shots being fired in a North Side neighborhood early Friday, a caller to 911 reported that a man was dead.
Homicide investigators have been questioning several people about the man who was found shot to death on the floor of a home in the 3100 block of Dupont Avenue N., said Sgt. Stephen McCarty. No arrests have been made.
Police were made aware of the gunshots by the electronic Shotspotter detection device.
Authorities haven't disclosed the 24-year-old man's identity, however, there is "nothing to suggest that [the shooting] is random," McCarty said.
Police are asking that anyone with information to call 612-692-TIPS (8477).
