Giovanni Mario Dotts is wanted by police in connection with the fatal shooting of Adelaida Sadd in north Minneapolis on July 14, 2012.
Police are looking for a 23-year-old man who they say shot and killed a woman last month in a north Minneapolis home.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Giovanni Mario Dotts, in the death of Adelaida Sadd, 26. She was shot in the chest on July 14 in the duplex in the 1700 block of Glenwood Avenue N.
"We don't want people to approach him," police Sgt. Stephen McCarty said Wednesday. "If they see him, they should call 911."
McCarty would say little else about the killing, except that Dotts and Sadd had known each other. McCarty declined to say whether a weapon has been recovered.
Sadd lived in Minneapolis but not at the address where she was shot. Dotts has had addresses recently in Minneapolis and Robbinsdale.
Should Dotts be arrested, police would then forward a case to the Hennepin County attorney for charging, the sergeant added.
Dotts is described as black, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build and black hair. CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to Dotts' arrest. Anonymous tips can be called in at 1-800-222-8477 or by visiting crimestoppersmn.org.Paul Walsh • 612-673-4482
