Minnesota man indicted in wife's totem-pole death

A grand jury has indicted a northern Minnesota man suspected in the totem-pole death of his wife.
The Koochiching County grand jury indicted 50-year-old Carl Muggli of Ray on charges of first- and second-degree murder Thursday.
Muggli was already facing a second-degree murder charge. His wife, Linda Muggli, died in November 2010 when a log the couple had been carving for a totem pole fell on her.
The Duluth News Tribune reports Carl Muggli had been free on bond when the indictment was returned. He was re-arrested and brought to the courthouse where a judge set bail at $1 million cash.
Muggli is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday on the indictment. He remained in jail Monday.
Calls left for Muggli and his attorney were not immediately returned.
