Minneapolis fire crews had to put out a fire twice at a house on the north side -- first on Wednesday night and again early Thursday morning.

The Minneapolis Fire Department responded to a report of a fire on the 2900 block of Colfax Av. N. shortly before 5 a.m. There was a large fire on the second floor of a two-story house.

Crews searched the inside of the house, but had to leave and try to put it out from the outside when the roof started to collapse. They finished putting out the fire at around 8 a.m.

The house's occupants weren't at home because an earlier fire at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday forced them to stay with relatives for the night. Both fires are currently under investigation.

There were no injuries and no nearby homes were affected.
