Coon Rapids police are investigating a hit-and-run accident after a 26-year-old man was struck and dragged 50 feet early Saturday.

First responders found the man in the 11400 block of Xavis Street NW. after a 911 call at 5:17 a.m., according to a news release from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office. The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where he remains hospitalized with serious injuries.

The man was struck on Xavis Street and dragged 50 feet, authorities said. Authorities impounded a vehicle believed to be involved in the crash, but no one has been arrested or charged. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor, authorities said.
