Road construction around the Twin Cities metro area is a bit less constrictive this weekend than others recently, but there are still a few locales worth knowing about for those heading out for fun:

• In the southwest metro, westbound Hwy. 62 is closed between Interstate 35W and Hwy. 169 for resurfacing until 5 a.m. Monday. The marked detour: southbound I-35W to westbound I-494 to northbound Hwy. 212 back to Hwy. 62.

• Because of construction and maintenance projects on the Hiawatha light-rail line, Route 55 buses will substitute for trains between the Target Field and Franklin Avenue station until 3:30 a.m. Monday. The buses will operate more frequently than trains, but bus trips will take longer than train rides.

These light-rail stations will be closed during the service interruption: Target Field, Warehouse District/Hennepin Avenue, Nicollet Mall, Government Plaza, Downtown East/Metrodome and Cedar-Riverside. Rider alerts will be posted at stations to direct customers to Route 55 bus service, and Metro Transit staff will be on hand at train stations to direct customers to buses.

Central Corridor light-rail project construction crews will be working east of the Metrodome at the area where the new line meets the Hiawatha line.
