NWA allows customers to pay with cash, frequent flyer miles

Last update: February 19, 2008 - 4:04 PM

Northwest Airlines has a new way for customers to pay for their tickets. Starting today, patrons can combine frequent flier miles with cash, the airline said.

In its new PerkChoice program, customers can use as few as 12,500 WorldPerks miles to pay for half of the posted fare and cash for the remaining balance. The offer is good on roundtrip tickets and there are no time or date restrictions if a seat is available, the airline said.

Under the new program, the airline's WorldPerks members won't have to accumulate the standard 25,000 miles to redeem their miles for discounted travel. The new program will allow WorldPerks members to use frequent flier miles to book travel even if a PerkSaver seat is available on only way of a roundtrip

"PerkChoice elevates customer flexibility by providing more ways for customers to use their WorldPerks miles," says Bob Soukup, managing director of WorldPerks marketing.

Customers will still have the option of using cash to pay their tickets or using WorldPerks miles to cover their fare.
